13. The Power of Gratitude
Gratitude is a very powerful emotion because when we "feel" grateful, we cannot help but feel good. As a child, my parents and grandparents, like most, used guilt and fear as primary methods of discipline. While their intention was good (we all know what the road to hell was paved in right?), it was destructive and led to some residual negative feelings. For example, I was a very picky eater (still am). If I had a dollar for every time I heard about starving children in 3rd world countries, I could feed every one of them! The intent was to teach me gratitude, and that gratitidue was supposed to make me eat my cabbage. It truly didn't make the cabbage any more attractive to me, but it did make me feel sadness for the starving children who WOULD be grateful for something that I was not only not grateful for, but resentful of! It made me feel like a horrible human being. Sometimes I would gag the food down, but certainly not happily. Guilt and gratitude do not belong in the same sentence. You cannot teach gratitude. As parents and grand parents we can help our children to recognize and express their gratitude. I think it borders on abusive to burden children with such problems as world hunger. Children should not be taught to be grateful for things they have BECAUSE others do not. True gratitude brings about feelings of joy, not guilt. When we are truly grateful, we feel blissful and blessed. It is difficult to feel blessed for a having a plate full of food with an image of a starving child in our head!

14. The Art of Manifesting Abundance in Business
I had the opportunity today to watch The Secret again. I've watched it a few times, and each time it speaks to me in a new way. Today was more of a deeper realization of the original impact, if that makes any sense. I realized that I have fallen back to some old patterns, to some old ways of thinking and my business was not growing as rapidly as a result. We all get into ruts, and The Secret to manifesting Abundance in Business, is to recognize when we are getting into one and IMMEDIATELY change the thought pattern. What I do, is say "STOP!" out loud, to abruptly STOP the destructive or negative thought. I then will state something that I am grateful for. Those statements generate feelings of gratitude which manifests more to be grateful for. I believe this with all my being because I have seen it work in my life. The MasterKey System and Mentors in Motion training gives us real life application for applying The Secret, and discovering those programs along with my current Amigo Team are among the things that I am most grateful for in my business today. I feel such warmth and gratitude when I think of Jim Gras, the first mentor who saw my potential and showed it to me. When I think of what Jim has done for me, it really isn't about teaching me how to market online. Sure he's showed me a few tricks, but in all honesty I have showed him some too! What he really did was believe in me. His belief in me made me believe, and as a result I have manifested results. I am a different person today because of attracting these incredible people into my life. 15. The truth about the Lies
Here are some truths I can tell you about the lies being told about marketing on the internet: Let me preface this with the following disclaimer: I did not author these brilliant statements, and I do not know who did. A dear friend passed these on to me, and I liked them all so much, I felt compelled to share. If you know who the author is, please get in touch and let me know! You won't get rich by next Thursday. (If someone tells you otherwise, they're lying.) You can't double your money every week. (If Warren Buffet and Bill Gates can't, neither can you!) Nobody's going to flood your PayPal account with money while you sleep. (You know that, right?) The "gurus" don't care about you... they just want your money. (Sorry, but it's true.) "Get three who get three who get three" doesn't happen. (They just tell you that because it sounds so easy.) People will lie to you to get you to send them money. (Not just some people... MOST people!) When honest people deal with dishonest people, the dishonest people ALWAYS WIN! (That's why you've been losing all this time!) You don't have to be a victim anymore. (Doesn't THAT sound nice?) You CAN make money on the Internet... LOTS of money! (IF you understand how.) You don't have to lie or cheat other people to make money! (It's a fact! Honesty works too!) AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: ***You can get all the help you want... when you want it... from REAL PEOPLE! (And it won't cost you a dime!)

16. Mentoring... who needs a mentor and where do you find one?
And more importantly, how much should it cost? Let's start with cost. If you are part of a network marketing business, your sponsor should be your mentor. Now some sponsors are brand new, and thats ok - we all had to start somewhere. Go ahead and join a newbie, just make sure they are part of a team that works together. 20. Employment is a SCAM!
I LOVE IT! I just got off a Mentors In Motion call, hosted by the one and only Mr. Val Smyth. Val shared with us that he believes going to work is a scam. I have to agree with him! Think about it for a minute. You go to work for your employer, to increase his personal wealth. You trade your time for a wage. The wage is usually just enough to keep you coming back for more. The government gets in on the scam by having the employer deduct income tax from your pay. What other business (and government is business) gets to charge you advance for what you may purchase or owe? That would be illegal wouldn't it? Yet the governements are allowed to deduct income tax from employees pay for a bill that they MAY owe at income tax time! Interesting concept... work for an employer being a scam. Any Person, Any Small Business, Can Do It! So why do most online small businesses fail? Because they do not recognize and act upon the profound difference between offline and online commerce. Offline, put your business where people crowd by... and you're all set. Get your cash register ready! It's all about "location, location, location." Online, the fundamental reality of how people use the Web is different. No one "passes by." They search for "information, information, information." When you joined your network marketing company, they may have provided you with a replicated site. They may have "sold" you on the replicated site, telling you that this is your e-commerce business. The reality is that replicated sites are NOT effective marketing systems. There are solutions. Once you learn the craft of internet marketing, you can market any product or service successfully. 22. Network Marketing Myths Busted
Most reputable network marketing companies have some pretty strict media rules. Media rules that include not allowing you to use the company name or logos in your online advertising. Some companies will allow you to market only with their approved websites and ads, and some will charge you hefty prices for those marketing materials and resources. This is one way that companies make their money - on the backs of their distributors. The good news is that companies that have rules are responsible. The bad news is that it limits your ability to market... unless you know how to work around it. 23. The Duplication Myth
Do you believe in duplication? Have you been able to duplicate someone else, or get others to duplicate you? If you have, I seriously want to hear from you. I have yet to meet anyone who has had success with duplication. The truth is duplication is a lie. It is virtually impossible to "duplicate" another person unless you can clone him or her. The myth goes something like this... in order to achieve mlm or network marketing success you need to have a completely duplicatable system. Many get "duped" into believing this because it certainly sounds plausible, but is it? Let's examine more closely. Certainly, you can have a system that is identical to others - that would be a requirement of duplication. So, in internet terms, this is a replicated website. What those duplication supporters don't tell you (maybe because they don't know) is that replicated sites are not effective marketing systems. Why not? For a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that search engine spiders basically ignore them. Let us suppose that yours is one that the spiders for some reason will index. You cannot control the meta tags. What does that mean? Quite simply, you have no control over the keywords, the title, the content, nothing. Your replicated website is good for something, but really all it is good for is follow up - if you are paying for your replicated site, unless it is dirt cheap, I'd cancel and save my money if I were you. The truth is, it doesn't matter what your mlm business is selling - the only way to make money in mlm is to break free of the network marketing lies.
